Bhubaneswar: The Tehsildar of Nimapada in Puri Regency, Rama Chandra Jena, was arrested by the Directorate of Secretary of State on Tuesday on charges of indulging in massive corruption and carrying cash unchieved from around RS 5 Lakh.
The anti-corruption wing was stunned to find Jena, ordered by vigilance in two separate corruption cases in the past, having five Pan cards in its name.
Jena, Odisha administrative service officer (OAS), is also a registrant in Nimapada.
Allegiance officials also arrested his younger brother, Laxman Jena, for allegedly conducting corrupt activities Rama Chandra.
“We intercepted Rama Chandra Jena near the quarter in Nimapada and took RS 4.65 lakh’s cash from him.
During his residence, the other 50,000 RS cash was restored.
The search was made at his residence at the Sec-11-CDA in the Cuttack and its original place.
