Hyderabad: It was an unforgettable moment for 162 families, who received the key to the new two-bedroom house built under the Telangana Government Dignity Housing Scheme on Monday.
Over the years these families spend their lives in slums in Sanathnagar.
Pott Sriramulu Nagar 2BHK Colony housing in Bansilalpet Division, who came under the initiative of dignified housing, spread in 0.7 hectares and was built at a cost of more than Rs 14 Crore.
The housing colony inaugurated by the Minister of Livestock, Srinivas Srinivas Yadav and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor of Gadwal Viejalakshmi, is equipped with a CC road, waste line, bah, specifically for drinking water and also electricity.
Speaking in the inauguration, Vijyalakshmi said, “The state government has made its role by providing free homes to many of you, now your responsibility to grow more trees in the community and keep the place clean.” Commercial space for outlets on the ground floor has been provided along with housing housing so that rentals from stores can be used for complex maintenance, “he added.
The cost of each residential (DU) measuring 560 square feet is Rs 8.65 lakh.

Two other communities located in Sanathnagar are also scheduled for inauguration in July.
The Gy Reddy Compound 2BHK Colony Housing and Golla Komaraiah Colony 2BHK Housing Colony, both in Sanathnagar, each will be inaugurated on July 1 and July 5.
