Hyderabad: The 800-year-old Kakatiya temple in Burgula Balanagar Mandal Village in Mahbubnagar Regency is in a dilapidated condition.
Calling conservation, archaeologists urge the state government to restore the temple.
Built during the Kakatiya regime, this temple is a triple arrest which has the same ‘rangamandapa’, vernacularly called ‘tricycled’.
“There is a terrible need to recover the missing parts of the triple temple into the original style,” said Archaeologist e Siva Nagi Reddy.
This temple is located only 38 km from the district headquarters.
Based on the architectural style of the temple and art sculpture Bhairava and Nandi was seen in Pangamandapa, the statue of Dwarapala and Lady was carved on the door frame, Nagi Reddy said the temple came from the 13th century Kakatiya Ganapatideva.
