Hyderabad: In the midst of speculation the third wave, ‘Ashada Bonalu,’ which is celebrated every year in Telangana, will begin on Sunday.
Women’s lakh gathered to pay obedience to Dewi Manganankali by offering their ‘Bonam’ in 25 temples in the cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
The bonalu celebration throughout the month will begin with offering the first gold bonam to the Temple of Dewi Jagdamba in Golconda fortress at 12 noon.
With the Covid-19 pandemic case on a surge in 2020, the Telangana government has limited the celebration of the Bonalu Festival at the temples.
After a large-scale vaccination drive was taken by the authorities, this was the first festival that the government celebrated after relaxing locking.
The Temple’s authority expects an unprecedented crowd this time, because women cannot fulfill their bonam offerings to Dewi because of last year’s pandemic.
“Aligning social and wearing masks is mandatory for every woman’s worshiper.
Temple staff and police will jointly oversee compliance with distance and social masks in the Golconda fortress.
Barricades separate from Golconda and Hilltop fortresses has been regulated.
Announcement through a public address system when sticking to Covid-19 guidelines will be made, “Golconda Executive Officer Jagadamba who was responsible, Mahender Kumar told Stoi.
“We expect 30,000 to 50,000 female considerations to visit temples and offer Bonam during the festival throughout the month.
Expect a heavy rush on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, massive sanitization will be taken,” he said.
The entire temple complex on the top of the hill was painted for that occasion.
The celebration then moved to the Temple of Ujjini Mahakali in Secunderabad (Lashkar Bonalu) and Lal Darwaja temple in the old city.
At the Mahakali Temple, Laskhar Bonalu will be celebrated on July 25 and ‘Rangam’ (Oracle Prediction) will be held on the same day at the temple.
“A large number of worshipers are expected to squeeze the Ujini Temple,” said the Executive Officer of the Reddy Mahender Temple.
“We installed barricades and marks to maintain social distance and ensure that every woman gets the opportunity to offer Bonam,” The Eo said.
Meanwhile, the police department has made complicated arrangements by installing CCTV in all vulnerable areas.
