Hyderabad: The state government will take the recovery of all Stepwells who are dead, dilapidated and historically significantly inside and around Hyderabad, now that Stepwell’s bansilalpet restoration work in Secunderabad is underway.
There are around 140 steps in the state, including 60 in Hyderabad.
However, some restrictions such as Bhagwanda Bagh and Shiva Bagh Baoli Gudimalkapur Stepwell who were recently cleaned, two stepmothers in Maqbara Laiqa Bai Chanda who were restored almost 10 years ago, pushkarni at the Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Ramajpur, and the open well.
At Moula Ali is in a bad condition.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, City Administration and Urban Main Secretary, Arvind Kumar said, “We want to rise again, as far as possible, all #stepwells who die / dilapidated in & around #Hyderabad (SIC).” The Maid Department is currently carrying out a Stepwell Heritage Restoration project in Bansilalpet.
Stepwell, which was built during the Nizam era, was a source of drinking water for the residents of the Bansilalpet and the nearest area for several years but became a disposal site for neglect.
While updating the restoration status of the well, the Zonal Secunderabad B commissioner Srinivas Reddy said the debris would be removed continuously for the following three days for the restoration project.
The government has worked with Hyderabad Design Forum (HDF) to identify his stepsal steps.
This forum recently sent a list of 100 wells in the state to the MAUD department.
Authorities have decided to choose a well that will get a facelift and take the work gradually.
One Stepwell in Bapu Ghat, one in Gachibowli and two in Kokapet is what will soon undergo a restoration job.
Officials coordinate with some experts have included methods for refilling groundwater as part of their Stepwell restoration project.
