Telangana: Eamcet, ECET Could be postponed

HYDERABAD: The government is very likely to defer common entry examinations (CETs), such as the Eamcet in the aftermath of flaws in conducting final-year level tests and releasing intermediate outcome as a result of next wave of the outbreak.
Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has deferred postgraduate technology common entrance test (PGECET) that was scheduled to occur from June 19 to 22, due to the country lockdown.
Authorities said plans are afoot to reevaluate different CETs too.
“We have opted to postpone ECET (technology average entry test) and also Eamcet also that are scheduled to the first half of July.
We’re put to put forward a proposition to the instruction minister Sabitha Indra Reddy who’ll take a last decision on exactly the exact same,” explained Papi Reddy, chairman, TSCHE.
Even though the ECET is scheduled for July 1, Eamcet is now scheduled for July 7, 8 and 9.
“When the government makes the decision to defer CETs, then we’ll need to find new slots out of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to run the assessments.
Besides this, we’ll also need to make sure the revised dates do not clash with other entry examinations,” said Reddy.
The destiny of incorporated shared entrance test for MBA/MCA admissions scheduled for August 19 and 20, legislation shared admission test and PG law shared entry test on August 23 and schooling standard entry test on August 24 and 25 is determined by completion of undergraduate level courses.
TSCHE won’t have the ability to hold those assessments until final semester tests are conducted.
“We’re prioritising conduct of the last year degree examinations without jeopardising the health of pupils.
We must wait and see as to how the problem progresses within the upcoming few weeks.
The CET examinations for PG courses could be postponed if there’s additional delay in running the amount final year examinations,” said Navin Mittal, commissioner of postsecondary and technical instruction.
