Hyderabad: With Union Greenlighting Cabinet ₹ 4.445 Crore PM Partner (Integrated Textile Region Mega and Clothing) Scheme to establish seven textile parks throughout the country, Telangana get ready to accommodate seven.
This scheme was announced in the 2021-22 Union budget by the Minister of Finance.
Telangana will immediately send a proposal to the center.
Apart from Telangana, countries such as Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha, Rajasthan, Assam, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh are in a race.
“They will take proposals from the state for the current evaluation and choose the best seven.
We will send our proposal to Textile Park Kakatiya (KMTP) in Warangal in the next three months,” said Secretary’s Chief Secretary and Industry Jayesh Ranjan.
During the budget announcement, Ranjan said that KMTP is expected to be a front runner in collecting support from the center because the project ticked all the feasibility boxes.
Spreading more than 1,200 hectares in Warangal, KMTP, are being developed on vertically integrated models to cover the textile value chain & complete clothing.
According to central norms, parks that are competing for partner schemes must be spread in at least 1,000 hectares and have core infrastructure such as incubation centers, plug & play facilities, developing factory sites, roads, power, water, and waste water systems, general processing Home & General Waste Care Factories, design centers and test centers, among others.
These parks also need to have supporting infrastructure such as Hostels and Housing Workers, Logistics Park, Warehousing, Medical, Training & Skills Development Facilities.
Each park will have the potential to make work around 1-2 lakh.
In fact, KMTP has attracted several tent investments such as Kitex Kerala group, which produces children’s clothing and expects the unit to start commercial operations from November 2022.
