Telangana Genco Opens 30 Hospital Beds for Migrants

Hyderabad: In the size that can run far in combating the effect of Covid-19, Telangana Genco has developed a 30 bed hospital exclusively for migrant workers.
Genco made a decision because many workers who worked at Yadadri’s thermal power plant (YTPP) in Damarcherla had gone to their original countries because of locking and fear of a pandemic.
This facility, which appeared in a place under the development power plant, opened by Energy Minister G Jagady Reddy and Chairman Genco and Managing Director D Prabhakar Rao on Tuesday.
“In the first wave of Covid-19, some workers from Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh went to their home country.
The plant should be ready in 2022, but the works were delayed due to the problem of migrant workers.

More than 8,000 workers are involved for the work, but only 1,200 to 1,500 are currently available.
“Following guarantees on their health, more than 4,000 migrant workers returned.
The government is able to prevent more workers from going to their country,” Minister said.
He said more than 1,000 migrant workers had been inoculated so far.
It was also decided to provide more facilities to workers at the factory and the steps taken to restore trust among the workers.
