Hyderabad: The National Police have notified the High Court that there have been four honorary murders and three cases of attacks on those who entered the wedding of marriage in the past four years in Telangana.
The Director General of Police Additional (Law) Rajiv Ratan submitted a written statement on behalf of DGP in HC against this effect.

The previous DGP memo, however, had several printing errors and as a result of one such mistake, the memo itself was seen conveying a message that there were 50 Khap Panchayat who were noticed by the police in Telangana.
Surprised by Revelation of the existence of Khap Panchayats in Telangana too, the bench asked DGP why the statement was arrested silent at follow-up or Tracking Khap Panchayats.
In fact, circular asked the police to take action against Elder Khap Panchayat if they found a case of caste who asked people to follow the violation of the law.
The bench was looking for detailed affidavit and posted this case until September 29.
Applicant Sambasiva Rao has submitted his request in 2019 but he died in July 2020 because Covid-19.
The bench, in his previous session, looked for a written statement from the DGP in the steps taken to contain the threat of honor.
After reading a written statement, the bench stated his dissatisfaction and looked for a more detailed written statement that explained the specific problems that arose because of Khap Panchayats, etc., and the steps taken to load it.
Panchayats Khap, which is common in countries such as Haryana and Punjab, are known in the AP and Telangana as ‘Elder Castle meetings who impose conditions that violate the law on’ offenders.
Some of these punishments include expelling the offenders and their families from the villages, asking people to boycott the family of the offenders, who crossed the caste line to marry someone their choice.
