Telangana in soup as FCI Nixes bought rice

Hyderabad: With the Food Corporation of India (FCI) decided not to buy rough rice from Telangana, the state government faces significant challenges in starting changes in the cultivation pattern as the largest rough rice producer in the country (about 1.5 crore tones) for two people Season, the state has the largest number of farmers (21 lakh) that benefits from the minimum price of price (MSP).
The government has asked additional rice from the trade union government.
Farmers face challenges in selling rough rice varieties while there is a slight clarity in the non-local market, because the dependence of neighboring countries on import from Telangana decreases.
Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, which are used to import rice from Telangana, have seen increases in local rice cultivation.
Local traders also buy rice from countries such as Uttar Pradesh and Chattisgarh, which have lower MSP than Telangana.
Officials said, “Our farmers lost a market share in these two accounts.
The export market outside is also limited when compared to production.” According to experts, modifying a cultivation pattern will be a difficult task, and state administration is considering many possibilities.
According to Jayashankar Telangana Agriculture University (Pjtau) professor, trimming must be carried out in an alternative pattern.
“Many countries rotate plants every season, and after cereal, credit will be planted.
We need to adopt this strategy, because there is more production than requests, and rice cultivation has an ecological impact,” said Pjtau Vicechancellor Dr.
Pravin Rao.
Agricultural scientists GV Ramanjaneyulu believes that the state must offer a strong support mechanism for farmers to encourage them to grow other plants.
“It’s not the right method to encourage rice and cotton despite the availability of water resources.
If other plants are also supported, even if not with the minimum support price, the cultivation pattern will change,” he said.
The Center for Bias for Telangana in Procurement of Rice: Civil Equipment Minister of Equipment Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Tuesday demanded the center by discriminating in Telangana in the procurement of boiled rice.
“This center has bought 1.13 crore metric tons of boiled rice from Punjab in Yasangi season but said that only 25 tons of lakh metrics will be purchased from Telangana.
It is the responsibility of the central government to buy rice.
Isn’t Telangana part of India,” he asked.
He said the rice was cultivated in 55 lakh hectares in the state in the current Vanakalam season and metric metric tons 1.40 crore expected.
From that, FCI is willing to buy only 60 lakh metric tons.
What about the remaining 80 tons of lakh metrics, he said.
The Minister asked the Union Minister G Kiswan Reddy and BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar to win at the BJP government at the center to get all plants for the interests of Telangana farmers.
