Hyderabad: The country has been looking for permission from the center to expand the road from Kagaznagar to Penghikalpet in AsifaBad in Kawal Tiger reserves.
The aim is to provide fast transportation to be polished and the Mandal Penghikpet to the headquarters of Assifabad District via Kaghaznagar Municipality.
The area sought by roads and buildings (R & B) the expansion department falls in the zone has high-human-animal conflicts and where human killings have recently been reported.
In the proposal to the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MOEF), the State requested a transfer of 2.2 hectares in the Kagaznagar division to expand the road in the Tiger corridor in Kumuran Bheeem Asifabad Regency.
Two tiger murders have been reported in the past recently in the Penghikikpet and Digida area where the alleged tiger of male-eating is in Pakrobak.
Activists, however, have objected to the proposal.
Enviromentalist Devidas Manghnani said, “Why do they expand the road in the tiger corridor forest? The tiger corridor has been under threat and this proposal will add stress.” The aim for greater roads is to provide fast transportation to bejjur and penghikalpet mandal to the headquarters of AssiFabad district through Kaghaznagar Muncipalitiy.
