Hyderabad: Former Chair of the Deputy Chair of the City of Adilabad was sentenced to firing political rivals and killed the former City Council Member during a fight for street cricket in December 2020.
Mohammed Farooq Ahmed (45), former Aimim District leader, was also fined Rs 12,000 by a special court In Adamanabad, opening two other accused.
On December 18, 2020, Farooq has taken an argument with rivals Syed Zameer (60), his brother Syed Mannan, Mohtesin’s last son (18) and others on the street cricket in the city of Adilabad in the city of Adilabad.
“When Farooq’s teenage son wants to play, Mannan’s son asked him to buy a cricket ball to join.
Objects immediately increased to an argument between the two families,” Adilabad II Town Ci P Srinivas said.
During the argument, Farooq pulled the revolver and shot Mohtesin at the waist.
When Zameer tried to intervene, Farooq shot him twice and also attacked Mannan in the head with the sword, said the public prosecutor Ramana Reddy.
Zameer gave up while undergoing treatment in Hyderabad.
The police submitted Chargesheet against three including Farooq in March 2021 and based on the request of Police Adilabad High Court transferring this case to an additional session in the Adamanabad court, which treated it as a special case.
After the Chargesheet was filed, Farooq had tried to end his life in a fairabad prison.
“Farooq was punished for murder, trying to kill and use firearms without a license.
Farooq’s license has expired, which has not been extended,” Reddy said.
The incident video was recorded on cellphones by the late son, the bullet recovered from the body of the victims, eyewitness statements and forensic experts played a key role in securing confidence.
