The state government has developed ‘Bhuddavanam’ in 274 broad acres in Nagarjunasagar and parts of the land, around 40 to 60 acres, will be allocated to universities.
Nagarjunasagar has been chosen for establishing a university as the first Buddhist philosopher and monk, Acharya Nagarjuna, lives in Nagarjunasagar and preach Mahayana.
“A proposal has been sent to the state government for the allocation of land for the proposed university.
The detailed project report has also been prepared.

He said as many as 68 subjects (themes) – culture, architecture, literature, and other subjects such as drugs, paintings, philosophies, hospitality, martial arts, engineering, administration, management and technology at Buddha – will be taught.
The Malaysian group has advanced to develop universities as group owners are followers of Acharya Nagarjuna.
The company also prepares the food processing industry in Siddipet.
Tourism Minister V Srinivas Good said that in addition to the Buddhist University, a monastery would be established by the Maha Bodhi Society, Bengaluru, and others by Taiwan-based Guang Shan monastery, a Chinese Buddhist monastery in Dashu District, Taiwan.
“The health center supported by the Dalai Lama will be regulated too, while Delhi-based groups want to build hotels for visitors,” he said.
Although Buddhavanam began during the Congress regime, the Government TRS traced the project and completed it at a cost of 68 crores.
The possibility must be officially inaugurated by CM immediately.
