HYDERABAD: Telangana may not expand the lockdown past June 10 in case Covid-19 instances come in border regions, say health officials said on Thursday.
“Some bordering districts such as Khammam, Suryapet, at which we’ve previously reviewed the circumstance, have greater number of cases compared to the country average.
We’re likely to examine more districts, such as Gadwal.
.
.If we could control the amount of instances there, we could lift lockdown following June 10,” said country manager for public health (DPH), Dr G Srinivasa Rao.
The health manager said a particular committee will soon be formed to pay back refund of surplus fees levied by private associations.
Thus far, 185 complaints against 114 hospitals throughout the country have been obtained.
“We’ve served show-cause visits to most of 114 hospitals, cancelled licences of 22 hospitals,” added the officer.
On vaccination, the DPH said that the Centre had declared vaccination drives for many categories without providing adequate stocks.
“We’ve got two lakh Covid-19 doses whereas at the 18-44 years group, you will find 1.75 crore beneficiaries.
Across all classes, we’ve 5.6 crore beneficiaries but have received only 60 to 61 lakh doses up to now,” explained Dr Rao.
He added there is a procurement policy for mucormycosis hospitals and drugs will finally have to prepare for a record of patients, see the nodal officer daily, gain approval, then procure medications from stockists.
Discussing about bed availability and continuing preparations for a potential third wave, director of health education (DME), Doctor K Ramesh Reddy, said the procurement of medications and prep of beds for kids are penalized.
“But, there’s not any proof that the next wave will strike kids mostly.
Going by the case of nations that have a third tide also this isn’t observed,” he explained adding that in the event of post-Covid symptoms in kids, prompt medical attention ought to be sought as examples of MIS-C (Multi-system inflammatory syndrome in kids ) has been increasingly viewed.
