Hyderabad: The State Government shouted to stop the ambitious plan to take the project that was elevated by the Rapid Transit System (EBT) bus from Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) to Narsingi which included an IT corridor.
Sources say with Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) concessions and Developers of L & T Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, who suffered enormous financial losses, looking for bailout plans from the country, the government must stop the ERTS plan.
Ebrts, also known as Metro Neo, was originally planned from the KPHB to the financial district which covers about 15 km and then decided to extend it to Narsingi covering a distance of 25 km.
Official sources said that even though the government had prepared a proposal a year ago with a detailed project report (DPR), the Covid-19 pandemic forced him to put the project on the back of the burner.
“As a HMR loss, especially after the pandemic, starting in 2020, there were no private developers who would advance to develop eBrts now even if the government took.
The situation was also the same as the airport connectivity.
The government is not in a position to spend large quantities to take it with its own funds , “said senior officials said by the government.
Although this center encourages Metro Neo in various cities, including Tier II cities such as Warangal, Far Financial Support.
The only advantage is that EBTS does not require any land acquisition because on the route and construction that is elevated is also cheaper than metro rails, officials described.
The source said the government estimated that around 6.40 passengers would take EBTT in 2043.
Because Metro Rail only included one side of the IT corridor, Metro Neo would be useful for passengers from KPHB, Nizampet, Bakup, and other regions.
“HMR attracts passengers between the area of Ameerpet and Rayadurg, but after a pandemic, many IT companies have begun to apply work from home to their employees,” said an official of the City Administration Department.
