Hyderabad: The historic Ramappa temple, fairy tale architecture in Stone, on Sunday becomes the first World Heritage site of UNESCO in Telangana.
Located in Muluugu District, Iconic Temple is now on World Heritage Site 39 in India.
The 44th session extended by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which is currently underway in Fuzhou in China, chooses to support the Ramappa temple to be included in the list of world heritage sites.
Overall, 17 countries supported resolution, which was highly supported by Russia, while Norway opposed it.
Previously, the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), in his report presented in the presence of the World Heritage Committee for the 44th session, preferably the suspended legacy tag.
However, because most members who attended the Fuzhou session supported the 13th century Kakatiyan temple, also called the Rudreshwara Temple, received a valuable legacy tag.
The Charminar and the Tomb of Shahi Qutub, which was handed over to UNESCO for legacy tags, were present on the tentative list.
The temple, dedicated to God Shiva, and other small temples in the complex was built by the ruler of Kakatiya Rudradeva and Recharla Rudra between the 12th and 13th centuries.
Working at the main temple began at 1213 CE and finished 40 years later.
Built with sandstone and sandbox foundation, the temple has graced beams and columns made of granite.
The unique feature of the temple is the tower or vimana, which is pyramid.
Vimana has been built using porous bricks, which are lightweight.
These bricks, one of the features of Kakatiya ruler, known as floating bricks.
This represents the beauty of the architecture and culture of the former Orugallu ruler, modern Warangal, with a kingdom that developed into many parts of Telangana Modern and Andhra Pradesh.
The ICOMOS technical evaluation panel visited Ramappa Temple from September 23-17 2019.
The panel received a report in 2020 and called for more information from the Telangana Government.
This has shown nine shortcomings that need to be overcome.
The AP government that is not divided send documents to UNESCO in 2014, just before the state bifurkasi.
“(IT) some describe architectural traditions, artistic, and Kakatiyan technology through the architectural structure in the compound of the walled temple and its broader arrangement.
The potentless temple complex is a single temple temple consisting of the Central Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple and other Middle School Mandapas, Temple and Temple.
Statues, especially the numbers of brackets at the Rudreshwara Temple, are artistic representations of both Kakatiya dance and cultural traditions.
These features testify with custom Kakatiya and temple rituals and construction technology, materials and elements of other carvings Describing artistic capacity in terms of work, “said ICOMO in a 2021 report.
However, it is maintained that the conditions of satisfactory authenticity, integrity conditions cannot be fully fulfilled in terms of complete features and attributes and general vulnerabilities of temple settings due to lack of protection mechanisms.
The Telangana Government in his document said: “Rudreshwara Temple is a single testimony of the highest level of creative, artistic expression, and techniques from the Kakatiya period.
This is also a testimony of agricultural-based communities that developed on the soil without eternal water sources in the 12th century.
The temple statue, especially the numbers of his bracket, is a unique statue carved from hard dolit stones and expressed dynamic movements in their form.
Whether humans and animals don’t look static or settled.
