Hyderabad: Telangana on Sunday recording 2,047 new Covid-19 cases and taking calculations to 7.09,209.
The death toll rose to 4,057 with three more deaths.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) contributed most of the new cases with 1,174 followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (178) and Ranga Reddy Regency (140), a bulletin said while giving details at 5:30 p.m.
on Sunday.
2,013 people recovered from infection.
The cumulative amount of recovery until the date is 6.83,104.
The number of active cases reached 22,048, said Bulletin.
A total of 55,883 samples were tested during the day and the total amount was examined until 3.06.29,520.
Given the increase in Coronavirus cases in the country and the country, the Telangana Government currently extends holidays to all educational institutions – private, associated and government, except for medical universities until January 30, according to the instructions of the Minister of Chief Chandrashekar Rao, said the official press release.
The state cabinet meeting will be held here on Monday under the leadership of Rao and the meeting will discuss the Coronavirus and other problems, he said.
Meanwhile, Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy was tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time.
After mild symptoms on Saturday, the speaker underwent a test and he tested the positive Coronavirus, the official release said on Sunday.
Even though he did not have health complications, the speaker was suggested by a doctor to be treated here, he said.
Srinivas Reddy asked them to meet him for the past few days to undergo Covid-19 tests and to isolate themselves as precautions.
In November, he had tested the positive Covid-19.
