Hyderabad: Telangana recorded 249 new Covid-19 cases and 2 deaths on Sunday even when the number of active cases in the country reached 5,258.
The total number of cases from the start of the pandemic last year, stood at 6.61,551 and the death toll was at 3,895.

Karimnagar and Yadadri have the majority of active detention zones in the state.
313 patients were declared recovered on Sunday, taking the total number of patients recovered to 6,52,398.
The case fatality rate (CFR) stood at 0.58 percent while the recovery rate reached 98.61 percent now.
So far 79.8 percent of the overall cases in the country have asymptomatic while 20.2 percent have symptomatic.
On Sunday, 53,789 samples were tested for Coronavirus novels.
Telangana has now completed a sample of 2.54 crore samples and has reached 6.83 lakh testing sample per million populations.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 82 cases on Sunday, while Medchal Malkajgiri nearby recorded 17 cases, Ranga Reddy recorded 13 and Sanga Reddy recorded 6 cases.
Outside the city of Hyderabad and its edges, Nalgonda with 18 new cases recorded the highest number of cases.
