Hyderabad: Third Telangana in terms of per capita expenditure for health care in this country, after Himachal Pradesh and Kerala, according to the latest report by the center.
At RS 6,000 Crore, Telangana also has one of the highest health budgets among different countries.
According to the report submitted at Rajya Sabha, Himachal Pradesh spent Rs 3,177 per person in Healthcare, Kerala spent RS 2,272 while Telangana spent Rs 1,698.
When it comes to out-of-pocket expenditures for health care (expenditure that must be used by people to use paid services in private health facilities) Telangana is in 9th position.
People in Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana and AP must spend more to utilize personal services than in Telangana, according to the report.
After the establishment of the Telangana State, the health service budget was raised from Rs 3,800 Crore (for all APs that were not divided) to RS 6,000 Crore, which provided encouragement for health care infrastructure such as the Primary Health Center (PHCS), Basthi Diagnostic Equipment (Diagnostic Telangana) .
