Telangana: There is no action at 350 Dilapidated Buildings

Hyderabad: With monsoons intensify throughout the country, there are still around 350 old and dilapidated buildings waiting for caves at every time point during the rainy season at the GHMC limit.
Activists and residents in several regions say that no actions taken to destroy, repair or empty structurally structures are not feasible from several years.
“I have raised two complaints about some old and dilapidated structures in the Fateh Darwaza area about a week ago I received a message with a reference ID that said that the problem will be resolved immediately.
However, there is no action initiated until now.
Officials must at least visit And check these buildings to assess the situation, “Mohammed Ahmed, a social activist.
Last year, of a total of 642 dilapidated structures, 231 were destroyed and 129 were repaired or emptied.
Therefore, the remaining 282 was added to this year’s list of 610 structural buildings structural.
Going with this data, 150 to 200 old buildings tend to be added this year to the existing list.
The situation even though there were two people killed and five others including two children who were injured when a old building partly collapsed at Hussai Alam last year.
“Let the demolition alone, the authorities did not even present notice to the owners of several houses around 70 to 80 years in Himatpura and Dhoo Bowli.
Most of these houses have massive cracks and looks like they might fall apart with a heavy rain spell , “said Shankar Yadav, a resident of Himatpura.
Meanwhile, the GHMC city planning wing, which conducted several demolition activities in Chudi Bazaar, Shastripuram and several other regions on Tuesday asked residents to work with officials to avoid unwanted events during the rain.
“We have served a notification to the population where we need to do a special drive to destroy, repair or empty the building.
In some cases, people ask for time because they do not have an alternative place to stay, while some of them are reluctant to empty even though serving notifications , “said M Malikarjuna Rao, Deputy City Planner, GHMC.
“There are also some problems because of the dispute between the owner and tenant, where tenants do not empty the place on time.
So, we will fit the procedure and see it that this problem is resolved earlier,” Rao added.
