Hyderabad: In the background of the Covid crisis, a large arrangement was being carried out to hold a very popular tribe festival ‘Medaram Jathara’ in the Muluugu district from February 16-19 in a safe way.
Lakh is expected to participate in ‘Sammakka Sarakka Jathara’ not only from Telangana but also neighboring countries.
The Minister of Welfare Tribe Sathyavathi Rathod, who was examined for arrangements on Monday, said the main focus would be in sanitation and health as a church festival was one of the largest in this country.
Masks, sanitiers, covid tests, vaccine centers and isolation facilities will be provided.
Fogging operations will be made twice a day.
A high-level committee consisting of three ministers, secretary heads, DGP and community representatives will hold a meeting to take stock settings.
Although the main festival from February 16-19 is still on week again, the lakhs have made it directly to Medaram for the past two weeks.
For the main festival, Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has sanctions RS 75 Crore for facilities.
The bathroom and dressing room are being established in Jampanna Vagu.
About RS 13 Crore is being spent placing concrete road cement and works likely to be finished at the end of the month.
The tribal welfare department has built the toilet sullabh at a cost of Rs 6 Crore.
The Department of Raj Panchayat was given a budget of Rs 4 Crore and out of this RS 3.5 Crore has been used for various jobs and RS 50 Lakh will be spent on the R & B Guest House.
Department’s waqf has also built a guest house at Rs 10 Crore.
Until now, five warehouses and 100 toilets are ready.
Three kitchen warehouses of the community will also be built.
About Rs 30 Lakh spent building a water tank above the head.
