HYDERABAD: Despite earnings being severely hit as a result of this outbreak, the state government has chosen to proceed with its Bathukamma sari distribution strategy this season also.
Thus far, TRS authorities have spent about Rs 1,200 crore about the strategy since its launching in 2017.
Continuing the plot this season, the nation has placed orders for a single crore saris worth approximately Rs 350 crore with energy earners in Sircilla along with other districts.
However, creation of saris was changed as a result of the next wave of the outbreak because many employees moved back to their own villages and nations fearing disease.
Textiles department officials advised that employees have begun coming back since the amount of Covid-19 instances are receding.
Presently, 11,000 of their 16,000 power looms are working while the rest are expected to be operational by the end of the month.
“We’re anticipating one crore saris to prepare by September 15…
Transport of saris to villages and districts could be completed in time to get to the beneficiaries prior to the festival,” stated a Telangana State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society official.
