Chennai: Department of Religious and Hindu Amal (HR and CE) Department on Wednesday took the main property spread in 49 reasons at the Poonamallee High Road in Chennai.
Parcel land worth RS 300 Crore at the market value belonging to Kancheepuram Temple Ekambareswarar.
HR and CE Minister P K Sekar Babu said a committee consisting of private construction experts had been formed to examine the structure in land parcels because they used it for other purposes.
The steps will be taken to recover Rs.
12 Crore Rent arrears from encroachment, he added.
Noting that more than RS 1,000 Crore Properties owned by the HR and CE Department have been taken because the DMK government is in power, he said the necessary actions are beginning to ensure that the properties are not applied again.
