Chennai: The Religious and Ameng Hindu Department (HR & CE) departments have taken the properties of the temple worth more than 1,500 crore rs of 424 quites in the state in the past eight months, according to a statement from the department.
The department identified the Temple property by mobilizing experts and adopted the differential Global Position System (DGPS) and Rover surveys in places to track lost properties.
It was launched on September 8.
Rover, which is equipped with a SIM card, will produce electronic data from the Temple land and its alignment during the survey in place.
By using the Differential Global Position System (DGPS), this data will be transmitted to the data collection center in the main temples.
This method will help track the lost temple property and take it, senior officials said in the department.
So far, the department has taken temple properties, including 407 hectares of land, worth 1,543 crore.
