Chennai / Coimbatore: Officials of the Directorate of Nestigation and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) began searching for the former Minister of Administration Tamil Nadu SP Velumani’s House and 51 other places in Coimbatore, Chennai, Kancheepuram and Dindigul on Tuesday morning in connection with graft cases.
Officials also conducted a search at the location of a former colleague close Minister AIDMK and contractors who had taken projects worth several crores rupees in Coimbatore and Chennai Corporations.
DVAC filed firmly against Velumani and 17 others on Monday.
According to FIR, The Greater Chennai Corporation and Coimbatore Corporation provided a tender worth RS 811 Crore to a company related to Velumani, from 2014 to 2018.
List of defendants including P Anbarasan, Brother Velumani who is a partner in P Sisters and Co., the company begins by the family They were in 1999 from which Velumani resigned in 1999.
The tender worth RS 464.02 Crore from Greater Chennai Corporation was won by these companies, while in Coimbatore Corporation, this tender value won was Rs 346.81 Crore.
DVAC said that when accepting this tender, the tender authority blatantly violated transparency laws of Tamil Nadu, transparency of TN in tender rules, guidelines for the central alertness commission and Mr.
Engineering Manual, under the influence of Velumani.
Violations are found at the stage of supply, negotiation, and work implementation, DVAC said.
At the tender offer stage, the company colluded with themselves and submit online offers using the same standard internet protocol (IP-IV) on the same date and one by one, which implies that everyone operates from the same computer.
DVAC said that the company colluded high prices that are not normal or abnormal for some components in the tender.
DVAC also said there was a clear relationship between family and engineer KCP Velumani, one of the column companies, who was awarded the tender by GCC and Coimbatore Corporation.
R Chandraskar, a close colleague of Velumani who used to sit at the official residence of the Minister in Ra Puram and decided which tender would go to which company, DVAC said.
Chandrasekar is also the secretary of the AIADMK youth wing in the coimbatore rural district, said the agency.
DVAC search starts around 7 in the morning.
Searches are being held in 35 places in Coimbatore, 15 places in Chennai and one place in the Dindigul District and Kancheepuram.
In the Coimbatore district, the search was being made in Vadavalli, Thondamuthur, Madukkarai and several other places.
Some Aiadmk men were crowded outside the residence of Velumani after the search began.
