Bokaro: Tenughat dam police on Friday opened two radial gates to discharge extra water.
The flood management mobile of this dam also advised the administrations of both Bokaro, Dhanbad and West Bengal alerting a increase in the water rates of the Damodar river as a result of introduction of the gates.
Additionally, the district government also appealed to residents to not venture outside close to the river for virtually any activity.
Tenughat dam contains 18 gates, all of which 10 are eight are all sluice gates.
