Guwahati: In the main push to export the potential of agricultural and processed food products from the northeastern region, fresh jackfruit shipping is exported from Tripura to Germany through air route.
Tripura is the largest jackfruit manufacturer in the country and the best quality Jackfruit is available during June-August.
“Jackfruit is one of the commercial fruit plants in Tripura and has high local requests.
Jackfruit is a source of carbohydrates, carotene, pectin, calories, calcium, potassium and vitamin A,” said an official of the exports of agricultural products and processed authorities (Apeda), Who provides assistance to the Government of the Tripura and Farmers’ producers companies in Joint Joint Delivery with Logistics Cargo AAI & Allied Services Company LT and Air India.

Since arrangement of package houses approved by Apeda according to European standards in May 2021 in Guwahati, there has been exports of Lemon Assam, jackfruit and other horticultural plants.
Apeda has carried out promotional activities to bring northeastern countries on the export map of Indian agricultural and processed food products and recently, the Jackfruits that are sourced from Tripura are also exported to London.
In June, ‘Lieke,’ was also referred to as Burmese wine, which grew in the Darrang district of Assam, exported to Dubai.
“Apeda will continue to focus on the northeastern region because it connects buyers to farmers and strengthens the entire supply chain of agricultural products from the northeastern region,” added the official.
