New Delhi: Flight operations at Terminal-2 Indira Gandhi-2 International Airport (T2) will be continued from next week.
Operators for Delhi Airport, Delhi International Airport Limited (Dial) on Saturday announced that flight operations will begin at the terminal of July 22.
Of 12:01 a.m., all Indigo 2000 series flights, along with all Goair flights will shift to T2, with a total of 27 counters to function at first to meet passengers from two airlines.
The resumption of operations on T2 will be with around 200 air traffic movements (100 departures and 100 arrivals) per day, which can increase progressively up to 280 at the end of August, officials said.
The terminal initially expects passenger footsteps every day of around 25,000 passengers, with Indigo 2000-2999 series flights and the entire Goair operation functions in the initial phase.

The first flight scheduled for T2 after reopening this terminal will be an indigo flight bound by Kolkata, which will take off at 3am.
Dial said it has taken several safety steps to contain the spread of Covid-19 and ensure passenger security as directed by the Indian government.
“Delhi airport is ready to reopen T2 once more for domestic flights after a recent shutdown because of the second wave of Covid-19 cases.
We want to guarantee that passengers at Delhi Airport, they will be in a safe and healthy environment.
We have implemented Some steps at the airport to ensure passenger safety without sacrificing their comfort and experience, “said CEO of Video Call Kumar Jaipuriar.

After the resumption of flight operations on October 1, 2020, domestic flights commercial operations were suspended again on May 18, 2021, following a significant decline in domestic air traffic.
The decision to continue T2 operations has been taken after Delhi airport began to witness gradual growth in passenger footfall after relaxation in locking norms and travel by various countries since June.
Ti previously reported how flight operations on T2 could be continued earlier this month.
In a recent survey carried out by the airport on the passenger experience, around 99% of leaflets said they were confident to fly through the airport.
