Jammu: Ahead of the celebration of Independence Day, security forces in joint operations on Friday, destroyed hiding places in the Jammu & Kashmir Doda district and restored large caches and ammunition, including grenades and detonators.
In the Poonch district, one person was arrested and improvised (IED) explosive devices recovered in the Mendhar area.
In Doda, police, special operating groups, army and paramilitary forces on Friday night launched Cordon and search operations in Tanta forests in Kahara and damaged terrorist hiding where the team took a large number of arms and ammunition.
The area was cordoned but no arrest was made so far while investigations were underway.
In Poonch, SSP Vinod Kumar said the joint team consisting of police, the army and border security force personnel (BSF), gathered a man because of his suspicious movement.
After emerging men and items, security forces restored IED – four sticky bombs in bottles – and cash 10,500.
