Srinagar: A member of the Forbidden Terror Clothing Mujahideen Gazwatul Hind, who was assigned to carry out the attack “Fidayeen” (suicide) in Srinagar, was killed in the city here, while the commander of Hizbul Mujahidin (HM) was between two ultras.
Killed at a meeting in the South Kundmir Kashmir District, police said on Friday.
The terrorist who was killed in Srinagar was a relative of one of the defendants on the suicide attack in February 2019 at Pulwama’s Lethpora, where 40 police officers (CRPF) lost their lives, said Inspector General, Vijay Kumar.
Kumar added that this year so far, 133 terrorists, including the peak commander, have been killed.
IG Kumar said The Gazwatul Hind Terrorist Aamir Riyaz, from Khrew at Pulwama, had planned a suicide attack at the Bemina Police Station in Srinagar but a warning security forces received information about this and killed him during the meeting.
The meeting in Srinagar broke on Thursday night in the Hamdaniya colony in Bemina.
A AK rifle, along with several ammunition, was confiscated from the meeting site after the terrorist body was killed recovered.
Meanwhile, the police said that the Hizbul Mujahidin District Commander was between the two terrorists who were killed in Kulgam’s Chawalgam.
IG Kumar said that the police, 9 RR and the CRPF were suspected of being suspected and offered to surrender to the terrorists hiding.
“The terrorists refused to surrender and instead opened fire on troops.
