New Delhi: Elon Musk belonging to the Electric Vehicle Company Tesla has received approval for three trim electric vehicles in India, so the total seven-approved versions in the country, said media reports.
Tesla India received approval for three more vehicles in the country, citing information from the Ministry of Road Transportation and Highway, Teslarati reported on Monday.
In August, Tesla received a homologation certificate for four car models.
With three more certificates, electric vehicle makers now have seven vehicles approved in India.
The right Tesla variant that receives the approval has not been determined.
However, there are 3S model sightings and YS models in Indian roads, the report said.
The latest three vehicles with a homologation certificate have not been named, he added.
Some Tesla test units have regularly navigate through local roads in India.
However, EV makers based on the US have not made a serious movement towards local production.
Earlier this year, Musk noted that the Tesla factory in India might occur if Tesla succeeded with the imported vehicle.
