WASHINGTON: Tesla Inc is recalling almost 6,000 US vehicles since brake caliper bolts can be loose, using the capacity to create a loss of tire pressure, papers made public on Wednesday show.
The recall covers particular 2019-2021 Model 3 vehicles along with 2020-2021 Model Y vehicles.
Tesla’s filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated it had no reports of accidents or injuries associated with the problem and the organization is going to tighten and inspect, or substitute, the caliper bolts as required.
Tesla stated that loose caliper bolts may enable the brake caliper to contact and separate the wheel rim, which might give rise to a loss of tire pressure in”quite rare conditions.” The business stated that, at the”unlikely event” there’s car damage in the loose or lost fastener, it is going to arrange for a tow to the nearest service centre for repair.
The submitting NHTSA stated Tesla was made aware in December of a subject episode between a 2021 Model Y car with a lost fastener about the driver-side back brake caliper.
The business has since taken steps to avoid loosening of the bolts at the assembly procedure.
