Galle (Sri Lanka): The rain forced the end of the beginning with West Indies reached 224/9 after avoiding follow-up on the third day of the first test against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
West Indies added nine walks in 30 balls and lost Cornwall Rahkeem on a short drive to play after lunch before the sky was opened.

West Indies collapsed to 113 for six in the stump on the second day but recovered thanks to the back action in a lower order.
Kyle Mayers (45), Jason holder (36) and Cornwall (39) all peeled off.
The only heating game in front of the series, the four-day match against the Council of XI in Colombo, was called without a ball closed, because it was raining.
