Noida / Ghaziabad: Given the third possible covid wave, both Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad plans to increase Covid testing in housing communities, rural areas, train stations and buses throughout the city.
The government has instructed the Ghaziabad Health Department to do 7,400 tests every day.
However, because cases can be ignored in the district, the department is doing around 4,600 tests with a focus on the RT-PCR test.
GB Nagar, meanwhile, is currently testing 4,100 samples every day.
In the absence of a significant increase in Covid cases, people do not appear in the booth.
In addition to reaching out to the community and rural areas, officials also maintain a close watch on the spread of infections in neighboring districts.
Gaziabad supervision officer, Dr.
RK Gupta said, “At present, the number of people with seasonal fever has increased in the district.
Their symptoms are similar to Covid.
All such patients must be tested for Covid too.” Dr.
Gupta added, “Random testing is being done In various communities and colonies throughout the city.
Also, efforts were made to get more children tested.
“The department focuses on three standing buses and Ghaziabad train stations where passengers from the high Kasel area such as Kerala and Maharashtra are being tested.
Two teams have been deployed in these places where around 600-650 the average test is being carried out every day.
Draziabad has conducted 41,718 tests this month (until August 9) and only nine cases have been reported so far.
There are 11 permanent booths and 16 cellular teams in the district.
Meanwhile, the Health Department of GB Nagar said random screening camps would be carried out in a botanical garden, sector 16 and sector 18 metro stations in the coming days.
“We have done around 37,100 tests this month (until August 9) in Noida, Greater Noida and other parts of the district,” said an official.
The majority of tests are carried out through a fast antigen kit, the officer added.
Meanwhile, 12 individuals have been found positive for Covid 19 with the same duration as no new cases detected on August 2, 5 and 6.Officials say in the coming days, driver autorickshaw, taxi driver, and other worker executives traveling back and forth -Balik to the district and neighboring countries will be screened.
