Noida / Ghaziabad: Districts have intensified drives testing and supervision to oversee travelers who come from countries with high case burdens, such as Kerala and Maharashtra.
In Noida, the association of resident’s welfare, Nigrani Samitis, hotels and hospitals have been asked to provide routine updates about such tourists to district officials.
In Ghaziabad, the testing team has been posted on a leading bus depot and the train station to filter passengers like that.
Following the orders of the state of the state recently, Chief Medical Officer Gautam Budh Nagar has asked all the population and nigranti bodies of Samitis in rural areas to oversee travelers, especially those from nine states with 3% or more participation levels.
At present, Manipur, Mizoram, Kerala, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Maharashtra and Sikkim have a high case burden.
Assam and Andhra Pradesh were included in the previous list, but recently, their caseload had fallen and they had been removed from a high-risk country list.
“More than just border supervision, we now examine the status of travelers through the Welfare Association of Residents and Nigrani Samitis.
We have notified all hotels and hospitals and officials gave us routine updates.
This has been done because Noida has hardly seen any tourists between states who entered the bus, train or air, “said Gautam Budh Nagar Hakim Suhas Ly.
According to district officials, tourist screening began on July 26 and so far, 160 people have been tested.
From them, 28 came from nine high-risk countries.
While two people were tested positively and their contacts were tracked, some of the results of the wait, officials said.
In Ghaziabad, the two teams have been deployed in three leading bus depots – old and new bus holders and terminus in Kaushambi.
Two teams have also been deployed at the Ghaziabad train station.

RK Gupta District Supervision Officer said every day 600-650 samples were collected from these places and so far, there were no positive reports.
The district has carried out supervision and screening exercises for almost a month now.
In July, the government issued orders that said that tourists who came to Uttar Pradesh from countries with high-level leaders must produce negative RT-PCR reports – their samples should be collected in three days of travel – or vaccination certificate.
Orders also say that the government will regularly publish a list of countries with a high case load and will be available on the Ministry of Health’s website so that tourists from those places can be monitored.
Ghaziabad Medical Officer Chief Dr.
Bhavtosh Sankhdhar said: “The Ministry of Health has intensified the drive sampling at the train station and the bus stand.
Along with this, the settings are made to monitor those who enter by flights.
This department also considers starting random screening drives on the Delhi border -Ghaziabad.
“On July 1, Delhi did not require RT-PCR reports for passengers who took domestic flights.
However, there are Covid testing facilities at the arrival terminal and departure.
For passengers flying from England, all Europe and Middle Eastern countries, negative RT-PCR reports need to be produced and they must get a PCR-PCR test that is paid on arrival.
At present, Uttar Pradesh has a 0.04% positioning level and in Noida and Ghaziabad, around 0.03%.
The two districts did around 5,500 Covid tests every day, according to official data.
