New Delhi: The Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Tuesday hit the Manish Tewari party’s colleague for his criticism of the dispensation of the UPA for his response to the attack on Terror Mumbai 26/11, said the former Union Minister did not raise him when he was part of the government.
The leader of the Congress Party at Lok Sabha said instead of the 26/11 attack, Tewari had to focus on China and his recent activities along the Indian border.
“Sometimes, books with more controversy sells.
Today, when the controversy is raised, this book will be sold more and BJP will be a salesman,” Chowdhury said.
Tewari has in his latest book – “10 flash points: 20 years” which will be released on December 2 – criticized the government upa for his response to the attack on Mumbai 16/11 terror attacks, by saying “restraint is not a sign of strength” and that India should take concrete actions after attack.
He was also exposed to the Government of Narendra Modi, accusing the scrapping of the Mountain Strike Corps, “the biggest harm” carried out by the BJP government against Indian national security.
“Tewari is a man of the letter and he can write a book about the contribution of the Congress Party to the nation.
But raising him (26/11 terror attack) is now strange.
He did not raise the problem even after being part.
After being part of his part and parcel from the government upa.
It should have raised the problem when he is a minister in the upa government.
Strangely that Manish Tewari has woken up now on an attack 26/11.
He should, instead, focus on his criticism to China and what he did in the Indian region, “Chowdhury told PTI.
China caught thousands of kilometers in Ladakh and established villages in the Indian region in Arunachal Pradesh.
“Our leaders must see what China does and criticize it,” said the President of the West Bengal Unit Congress.
Chowdhury said that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pranab Mukherjee were still recognized at the Pantheon of great leaders and as very consequential people.
“They have more experience handling the global situation,” he said.
He also said that Tewari had not been mentioned in his book what the reaction had to be at that time.
Tewari is a member of the ‘Group of 23’ leaders who have written a letter to Sonia Gandhi who are looking for improvements and elections of organizations for each post in the Congress Party.
In his book, the former Minister of Union said, “For a country that does not have brutally computing, hundreds of innocent people, restraint is not a sign of strength; it is considered a symbol of weakness,” he said in his book.
“There is a time when the action must speak harder than the words.
26/11 is one of the time when it should be done.
Therefore, it is my opinion which is considered that India should follow up on kinetic response in the days after 9/11,” he said.
His reference is to target strikes against Pakistan and dismantle terror infrastructure after Mumbai’s attack, sources close to him.
The nation will observe the 13th anniversary of Mumbai terror attacks 26/11 this weekend.
However, Congress did not respond formally with comments made in Tewari’s book.
The National Spokesman for the Pawan Khera said this book had not yet come out and someone could not comment without reading it.
