Hyderabad: The couple and their three children died after the wall of their hut collapsed in Kothapally village in the Jogulamba Gadwal district on Sunday.
Two small children from the couple fled with injuries.
The state government has promised to help families of victims by providing Ex Gratia.
At 6:30 a.m., neighbors from PS Mosha, 40, an agriculture, and his wife Shantamma, 35, from Kothapally village in Aiza Mandal from the Gadwal Jogulamba district noticed that something was wrong because the tap of the Panchayat water in the house was left open to a long time.
When the neighbors entered the hut, they saw that the cement brick partition wall at home had collapsed on seven family members.
“Two small children suffering from injuries in a hurry to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Their conditions are out of danger,” said Sub-Inspector Aiza (SI) G Muthaya.
The deceased was identified as Mosha, his wife Shantamma and their three children – Charan, 11, Teja, 9, and Ramu, 7.
The injured children were a five-year-old Sneha and a four-year-old Chinna.
The police said the victim’s house, with a roof of the straw, had mud and stone walls.
Mosha has built a mortar brick partition wall in the middle of the house.
“Even though heavy rain here, water seepage is not visible in the house.
Even though the house is old, the side wall is strong.
The wall base partition is not built correctly and suddenly collapses on family members who are in good sleep,” said Inspector Circle Shantinagar (CI) Venkateshwarlu.
The police registered a suspicious death case below the part 174 CRPC and shifted the body to post-mortem examination on Sunday morning.
Chief of Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was told about the tragic incident by Minister S Nirajnjan Reddy.
Gadwal collector Vallury Kranthi visited the village and, after speaking to relatives, announcing that the government would support the family by providing Ex Gratia.
