Hyderabad: Demanding that all middle year students are given signs and officials who conducted a hasty test must be fired, hundreds of junior colleges in the country remained closed on Monday as Bandh by the National Student Union India (NSUI) holding.
Some other organizations, including the Savings and Education Committee, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the Indian Student Federation (SFI), among others, also joined and demanded that a public award mark for all students fail in the exam.
“The test was carried out in a hurry and in the middle of a lot of confusion.
How reasonable to do the exam for first year students when they are in the second year and that also without doing regular classes,” Questionable Venkat Balmoor, President of State, NSUI.
The demonstrators demanded that all students from around 2,000 junior colleges must be given a pass and the repair test must be done so they can better score them.
They also demanded that the family of three students commit suicide, must get justice.
“Those who commit suicide is a fighting student.
They died because they could not secure more signs, not because they failed in the exam,” Balmoor added.
K Chakadhar Rao, President, Save Education Committee, said students were dying for suicide because they were under extraordinary and confused pressure because they could not find out how they would pass the intermediary exam.
“The Board announced that there would be no additional examinations and that students who failed in the exam must appear for a failed paper along with the second year’s examination only add to their stress.
The state must stop playing with the lives of students and immediately gives a graduation sign for all students,” he added .
SFI members, who issued a rally from Kachiguda to the RTC X-Roads, said that together with students graduated, the state must carry out repair tests without charging the fees from students.
“The minister’s chairman must provide guarantees to families who lose their children,” said RL Murty, President of State, SFI.
ABVP members, who gave a call to Bandh of Junior Colleges on Tuesday, burned symbolic effigions at Osmania University Arts College, Alwal, among other places on Monday.
Their demands include a re-evaluation of free papers, the dismissal of the Secretary of the Board and the Minister of Education not to do an online class and conduct an exam without proper plans and the size of rapid improvement.
Police arrested protesters in various places and took them to each police station.
