Hyderabad: Nexus between customs officials and red Sanders smugglers illegally exporting wood at the price of cargo has been exposed after an examination by the CBI and the Directorate of Income Intelligence.
The racket was revealed after the seizes of several red Sanders posts from Rayalaseema, weighing 3,293 kg, it was exported illegally by registering it as a pipe.
Three customs officials and the other two were crowned in the CBI FIR.
Officials accused of being Customs Supervisors C Venkatesh and Anantha Padmanabha Rao, and Ravinder Pawar Inspector from Bangalore Air Cargo Complex.
The other two were identified as Customs Agents T Satish Kumar, which was licensed under suspension, and an illegal exporter of Najeeb.
Red Sanders decided wrongly as Pipesthe’s customs officials had been ordered by the anti-corruption branch of Bengaluru CBI for a criminal conspiracy and also under the prevention of the Corruption Court.
The Red Sanders consignment was confiscated in August by DRI Bengaluru Zonal Office and a case booked for illegal export without a valid DGFT license.
In the probe Dri it was revealed that Satish Customs agent smuggled Sanders red by bribing customs officials and incorrectly combing logs as a tenacious industrial pipe.
On December 21, the CBI submitted a report that detailed the conspiracy between customs officials and smugglers.
According to CBI, Najeeb approached Venkatesh customs supervisor through Satish to facilitate shipping cleaning.
Between June and July 2021, Najeeb brought a total of seven shipments of red Sanders to witness permissions on behalf of the exporter of Gurmehar Impex and Teac Engineers.
The probe revealed that the shipping of St Fir which contained red sanders was declared industrial pump parts on behalf of Gurmehar Impex.
“When shipping was taken for open checks on June 3, the Pawar Inspector took 12,000 bribes and sent a false report stating the item in the container was the same as what was stated in the invoice or document of the delivery bill.

Where shipping was scanned and filled with Pawar who demanded 8 lakh for himself and Rao’s supervisor, “CBI said in his report.
Satish paid 2.5 lakh to the cash pomar and 1.25 lakh to Rao through the banking channel, and 1.25 lakh further later.
Other delivery names are changed from UDL Logisitcs Ltd with Teac Engineers with addresses.
This delivery is not selected for open checks or scanned by Indian Sat Satay.
Delivery contained a red sander log was declared as a tenacious industrial pipe, the CBI said.
Two other shipments were found by Dri in August on behalf of Lakshmi Logistics.
