Hyderabad: In the PA score below 43/100, Telangana has many things to do in terms of efforts to reduce unfavorable climate change, according to a recent Niti Aayog study.
Telangana has been placed along the other nine states that have been found to want to take proactive steps to combat the challenges of adverse climate events.
Scores are assigned based on various criteria, including minimizing CO2 emissions, effective disaster management systems, preparing countries to use renewable energy sources and regulate air pollution.
Niti Aayog reported sustainable development objectives (climate action) was released this year at values for 2020.
Nine other states with a score below 50 were Rajasthan, Goa, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand.
And Bihar raised the back with a low score of 16.
The misunderstanding among the government which only coastal countries affected by low scores is alarming, say experts, given the challenges highlighted by recent reports on the inter-governmental panels of climate change.
In addition, the Past UN report also stated firmly that disaster risk in India produced an annual economic loss of an average of $ 9.8 billion.
Climate experts say that there is also a broad misconception among the government that only countries along the coast or vulnerable to cyclones need to be feared.
“Climate change is not limited by the coastline.
This will have an influence on dry areas as well.
In fact, there must be statistics distributing the climate change and related problems.
The central government must follow up with countries about the actions taken instead of just giving scores, “Dr.
Harsh Sarma, Director of the Public Policy Center at College of Administrative Staff in India (ASCI) According to Dr.
Anjal Prakash, Director of the Bharati Public Policy Institute, Indian Business School (ISB), there is also a great need for specific policies and wings in state administration .
