Hyderabad: The Telangana Government on Sunday told the Godavari River Management Board that it would not be able to attend an emergency meeting scheduled for August 9, because of the previous commitment.
In a letter to the Board, the Secretary of the Special Chief of Rajat Kumar said representatives of Telangana would not be able to attend meetings, due to various legal issues posted on Monday.
“It was asked to show another convenient date so that members of the state of Telangana could attend meetings and present their views,” said the letter.
GRMB previously said the meeting was detained to take steps on the problems mentioned in Gazette notifications recently issued by the Council Jurisdiction Center.
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, lately, have been involved in war-words in connection with the problem of sharing river water and several irrigation projects (in both states) on the Krishna River, encouraging the center to come out with notification of Gazette sheets on the GRMB River Management Board and Krishna .
