Hyderabad: With a dose of covishield crore has been given to beneficiaries in the state, health officials have decided to continue to give priority for the second dose (both varieties).
With the guidelines being modified depending on the availability of vaccine stocks, the government seeks to ensure 1.5 lakh jab given every day.
Since 100 vaccination centers in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) starting drives for high-risk groups other than the urban primary health center (UPHC), guidelines have changed.
At UPHC, only the second dose is given.
The GHMC center provides the first and second dose (both varieties) depends on availability.
The availability of vaccine types depends on the second dose requirements in a certain area.
After a lack of vaccine supply in recent days, all GHMC vaccine centers provided more than 600 covishield doses each on Thursday.
“Vaccines will be available in one center or another, people can find out from officials and take their doses.
We do all efforts,” said an GHMC official.
Officials are conducting a quick antigen test on people who approve it for vaccine doses in the fields that report Spurt in the case of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, in view of the short supply of vaccines, districts have been asked to give priority to the second dose recipient, but there is no guideline incurred in the GHMC.
However, the second dose is given a preference depending on the jurnout on a certain day.
Despite the rain on Thursday, 1.8 doses of lakh were given.
“People, especially in urban areas, are eager to get a vaccine.
Also, most people prefer the government vaccine center,” said an official.
