Hyderabad: With the High Court refused to enable the immersion of Paris (POP) idols in Hussainsagar, the Telangana government had approached the Supreme Court for some of the Lega at least this year.
The biggest concern for the government is soaking from 40 feet of Ganesh idol.
GHMC officials and office carriers Khairatabad Ganesh UTSV Samithi are exploring various possibilities for soaking the highest idol city if SC enforces the direction of the High Court.
Every year, Idol Khairatabad Ganesh sets on the side of the Marg Lake Ntr.
However, the President of the State of Parishad Vishwa Hindu, M King Raju blamed the state government because he did not represent his case properly before Telangana HC and said the annual soaking of the idol Ganesh would only be done at Hussainsagar only.
“It is the responsibility of the state government to ensure that the immersion tradition of idols in Hussainsagar continues.
This is related to the lakh worshipening sentiment.
Also, the High Court has not imposed a total prohibition but put a limit,” said M Rama Raju to Ti.
“There is no scientific report that proves that Air HussainSagar is polluted due to idol immersion.
But it is a fact that the lake water becomes polluted due to industrial waste and humans entered various countries,” he added.
Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Karodimal Vice President Narsingpuria said they would wait another day to make decisions about soaking idols in Hussainsagar.
“If SC enforces HC verdict, the state government must come out with regulations or find a way out to respect the sentiments of worshipers who want to continue with the tradition of immersing idols in Hussainsagar,” he said.
On his side, the minister said the annual Ganesh celebration and Ganesh Shobha Yatra for idol immersion was unique to the city for years.
The Government TRS has made all arrangements for large behaviors of idols every year.
Jumbo-sized ganesh to be soaked in a pandal from next year: Starting next year, the jumbo-sized idol ganesh in Khairatabad will set on the pandal itself.
The decision was taken by the Khairatabad Committee Ganesh UtsaV after the suggestion of Mayor G Vijyalakshmi who visited Pandal on Tuesday.
Sudershan’s Founder-Organizer Committee also said that next year Ganesh Idol will be made of clay and as high as 70 feet.
“The Mayor of Hyderabad asked us to build Ganpati Idol with Clay instead of Paris plaster.
We have accepted it and will follow from next year,” Sudershan told Toi.
He also asked the mayor to allow them to immerse it at Hussainsagar this year.
