Hyderabad: With heavy rain hit the state for the past few days and large inflows into various rivers, all major and medium irrigation projects at Godavari and Krishna have reached a full reservoir level.
The irrigation department has lifted the crest gate to release water from projects such as Nizamsagar, and Bottom and Mid Manir.
Officials said that Havoc rain was seen in various districts, especially in the north like Karimnagar, Warangal and Nizamabad regardless of Hyderabad.
According to irrigation officials, Sriram Sagar and Nizamsagar have received heavy inflows from the upstream area for a while.
“While Sriram Sagar received 3.50,000 Cusec inflows, Nizamsagar received 49,200 cusecs.
NizamsaGar almost reached the full reservoir level.
Other major projects, Sripada YelPally, received 6.67.00 cuse and the same amount was released downstream,” said an official Senior irrigation.
In Krishna River Basin, both Srisailam and Jural have received a heavy inflow from the upstream area of Karnataka.
The Jurala project gets more than 93,000 cusecs and Srisailam around 1,18,000 cusecs.
The irrigation department has warned its engineers to oversee lowland areas.
