T’gana moved NGT to the SEEMA AP project, look for action

Hyderabad: Increasing Ante on the Irrigation Project Lift Rayalaseema (RLIP) built by Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Monday submitted an insulting petition in Chennai National Chennai Green Tribunal (NGT) urged the court to begin actions against the government for intentional violations of previous NGT orders.
Telangana also wrote a letter to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) to hold the board instead of the occupant committee to discuss all problems related to the AP irrigation project, sharing water and problems related to the Krishna River.
It was again urging KRMB to hold a meeting after July 20 when the officials were busy with the Kharif season.
The state government also ran from a letter to the Ministry of Environment and the United Forest (MOEF) on Monday, asking ‘be careful’ while considering giving Environmental Permit (EC) to RLIP during the meeting scheduled to be held on July 7.
, Secretary Chief Somesh Kumar filed a petition at NGT, collecting AP by violating the previous court order in RIP.
“Starting actions and continuing appropriate orders below Section 26 and 28 of NGT ACT, 2010, against respondents (AP) for intentional violations of October 29, 2020, the sequence of the court,” he urged NGT in the petition.
The petition also requested NGT to hold the AP from executing the RLIP without finding the EC from the Center and Krishna River Management Board (KRMB).
CS made Moef, the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, a Tow of AP and KRMB as respondents.
In the previous order, NGT had asked the AP to not advance with RLIP works without EC and direct KRMB in another order to check the project site.
NGT has also asked the court to start actions against the implementing agent, SPML infra, because it takes works that violate their orders.
Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao said the country would not be silent while emphasizing that the state would continue the Hydel power plant on the Krishna project.
CM also announced that Telangana will use 50 percent of Krishna waters until the final allocation made by KRMB.
In his letter to KRMB on Monday, Telangana Special Chief Secretary (Irrigation) Rajat Kumar said it was surprising that the Secretary of the KRMB member had mentioned the issue raised by the AP in the July 9 meeting, but circled some of the problems raised by Telangana.
, He mentioned five major problems that need to be included in the agenda.
“Revision of the ratio of the distribution of the Krishna River waters for the current water year, steps to stop the construction of the Rlip and Rajolibanda transfer scheme directly with AP immediately, steps to stop excessive redirects by AP from the PothiresDypadu head regulator and other projects outside The basin, revoked 20 percent of the total water taken as a use to supply drinking water and savings accounting that was appropriate by Telangana out of the water release ordered by KRMB, “added the Rajat Kumar.
