T’Gana: Pandemic provides a big boost to Pharmaceutical Course, Graduates

Hyderabad: Pandemic Covid-19 has provided a great boost to the pharmaceutical program with more than 95% of seats filled in the first phase of the engineering, agriculture, medical entrance test (Eammet).
According to the number released by Convenor Eamcet Navin Mittal, 95% of seats at B pharmacies, 99% of seats in Pharm D and 100% seats in the field of pharmaceutical and biotechnology engineering are filled in the first phase.
Until a few years ago, Pharm D graduates were seen protesting a lack of opportunities in the industry.
Thanks to Pandemi, many pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and insurance companies now make their way to recruit pharmaceutical graduates.
“This pandemic has changed the perspective of Pharma courses with more advanced students to pursue them.
Before the pandemic, starting salaries for pharmaceutical graduates is as low as RS 8,000.
At present, the demand for pharmaceutical graduates is very high with the company recruiting it for the initial salary of Rs 20,000,” said K Ramdass, President, the Telangana Pharmaceutical College Association.
Before the pandemic, many of the pharmacies will be empty because of poor demand for the course.
This year, a total of 73,071 candidates have qualified in Eamcet for a pharmaceutical program 14,384 attending certificate verification.
Of the 14,384 candidates, 13,646 options carried out and 8,394 were allocated seats.
A total of 5,252 candidates have used their options but are not allocated seats.
“Candidates must pay tuition fees on or before December 10 to confirm the seats allocated.
Candidates must report in universities allocated after the final phase of counseling between December 18 and December 20,” said Navin Mittal, Convenor Eammet, and Commissioner of Technical Education in Telangana .
Other counseling rounds are expected to be held to fill 413 empty pharmaceutical seats left.
