T’Gana Pegs Covid Deaths in 4K, but 26k looking for compensation

Hyderabad: Although the record of the Telangana Government said that 4,000 people have died because Covid-19 in the past two years in the state, more than 26,000 prosecutors have queued, looking for Rs 50,000 EX Gratia from the government on the grounds that their family members surrendered to Coronavirus during that period.
In accordance with the state health department bulletin, while 6.89,751 people suffered from Covid-19, 4,039 died of infection.
Rahul Bojja, Secretary of the Disaster Management Department, said they had received 26,000 applications until January 7.
“The Committee led by district collectors has cleared 12,000 applications.
The application is being downloaded every Monday and researched by the committee,” BOJJA said to Stoi.
Of the 12,000 applications, the administration of the Hyderabad district has so far been cleaned by 2,500.
Officials said they received 4,000 to 5,000 applications a day at first, but now they get 2,000 per day.
All applications are being processed.
Following the direction of the Supreme Court and central guidelines, the state government invited applications from their died relatives because of Covid-19, promising that they would get compensation for 50,000 each.
The affected family has been asked to register online through Meeseva centers throughout the state.
Explain the reasons behind the mismatch between the number of Covid-19 deaths and the number of EX Gratia applications received, the Hyderabad District Authority said that since the compensation guidelines had been reduced, the number of people had started to submit the former.
Gratia.
“The state government does not insist on any medical certificate from KIN which determines that their family members have died of Covid-19.
The applicant must submit a dead death certificate, Positive Covid-19 report, Aadhaar number from the deceased and applicant, plus the bank details From relatives, “explained Bojja.
Officials remember that some people had given up on the disease before they even were taken to the hospital or when transferred to the hospital, which was not officially recorded.
The State Health Department official said that the criteria for claiming Ex Gratia were that someone who gave up on Covid-19 should die in one month after testing the positive Coronavirus.
“However, there are some exceptions if hospitalization stretches exceeds one month,” said a senior health official.
