Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called Telangana head BJP Bandi Sanjay Kumar to ask about the January 2 incident in Karimnagar and the situation caused his arrest.
Bandi, who is also Karimnagar MP, was arrested during the sit-in against GO 317 on transfer of government employees.
The source said the conversation lasted 15 minutes because Modi took a minute-minute detail from the incident.
The sources of the party told Stoi that Sanjay informed Modi about go 317 and how employees were angry with the whole transfer process.
He also gave details about how the police stormed the protest site at his camp office in Karimnagar and arrested him using strength.
Bandi told PM about how BJP had to change the plan to hold Dharna in the view of Covid-19 restrictions and also shifted the venue to Karimnagar from Hyderabad.
Sanjay is believed to have notified Modi that support for the Bharatiya Janata party grew in Telangana.
According to sources, PM was studied to ask him to continue to fight for people’s problems in the constitutional framework and in accordance with the rules.
The prime minister also reportedly told Sanjay that TRS was not happy with a series of victories of the Bharatiya Janata party began with the larger selection of Hyderabad Corporation in December 2020.
