Hyderabad: Election for MLC’s six vacancies under the MLAS quota in the Legislative Council of Telangana will be held on November 29 and the results announced on the same day, the Indian Election Commission (ECI) said on Sunday.
The term six MLC office expires on June 3 and the election will be held in May but is postponed because of the second wave of pandemic.
After rating the Covid-19 situation, ECI came out with the poll schedule.
Eci also announced the election of the three MLC seats under the MLAS quota at the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh.
MLA is a voter for selection of up to six MLC seats.
At home the top 40 members in Telangana, the powerful TRS has enough amount to win all six MLC seats that are not removed.
Both Congress and BJP have no numbers to win even one seat, observer said.
The Six MLC whose messenger ended on June 3 this year was the Board of the former Chairman of Gutha Sukender Reddy, Deputy Chairperson of Neti Vidyasagar, Kadiyam Srihari, Akula Lalitha and Bodakunti Venkateshwarlu, all of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
