T’Gana: Puchampally is the best tourism village in the world

Hyderabad: Pochampally Village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District, which is known for its famous sari with his hand, on Tuesday was chosen as one of the best tourism villages by the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
Award will be given to the 24 General Assembly UNWTO session on December 2, in Madrid.
“On behalf of the people of Polokampilal and the Telangana people, I am grateful that this award has been given in the village of Pochampally.
I also thank the ministry officials to present this case for PuchamPally and other entries effectively,” G Kishan Reddy, Minister of Parat Culture , Tourism and Development of the North East (Doner), said.
The best tourism villages by the UNWTO pilot initiative aim to provide villages which are extraordinary examples of rural destinations and show off good practices in accordance with the specified evaluation area.
It also aims to support the village to increase their rural tourism potential through training and access to opportunities for improvement.
The Ministry of Tourism has recommended three villages for the award – Kongthong in Meghalaya, a typical Ladhpura in Madhya Pradesh and Pochampally in Telangana.
Polok is about 50 km from Hyderabad and is often referred to as the Indian silk city for beautiful sarees woven through a unique style called Tie.
This style, puchampally connective, received a geographical indicator (GI status) in 2004 and also known as Boodan Pole to commemorate the Bukshan movement launched by Acharya Vinobha Bhave from this village on April 18, 1951.
The Ministry of Tourism said it has compiled a rural tourism policy Not only will they promote tourism in our villages but also revitalize local arts and crafts and promote the rural economy.
“This will help rebuild and rebuild villages and rural life and villagers will also get the opportunity to be involved and interact with people from outside,” added Kishan Reddy.
He urged residents to include rural goals such as PuchamPally who have a rich cultural heritage in their travel plans and explore the beauty of villages in our country.
